Why can rimming be enjoyable?
While some people find rimming distasteful and would
never engage in this activity, others enjoy it greatly - both on the giving and receiving end. Rimming is the popular term for analingus; it is when you lick or kiss your lover's anal opening for erotic

It is important to practice safer sex in all types of anal sex: the anus and rectum carry many diseases that live quite benignly in your lower digestive tract, but which can be harmful in
your mouth or stomach. Performing anilingus is a very risky behavior for a variety of bacterial and viral infections.
What are these bacterial & viral infections?
Bowel organisms:
There is evidence that the bowel organisms Salmonella, Shigella and Campylobacter can all be transmitted by oral-anal contact. These can all cause abdominal pain and diarrhea. Infections with Salmonella and Shigella can occasionally be very serious.
Hepatitis A:
This is a common viral infection that can cause jaundice and abdominal pain. It is not usually life-threatening, although sufferers can feel very ill. The virus is found in feces in high concentrations and will almost inevitably be present on the apparently clean anal skin of infected individuals. It can be transmitted by oral-anal contact.
Hepatitis B:
This is another viral infection. It is common in hot countries and around the Mediterranean. It is particularly common among people who have had a previous sexually transmitted disease, and among drug users. It can cause a very serious, potentially fatal, liver disease and chronic liver damage. It is most commonly transmitted by inoculation of infected blood, by sharing needles for injection, needlestick injuries and the medical use of infected blood products. Virus particles are found in semen, stool and saliva, as well as blood. There is clear evidence that it can be transmitted through anal intercourse, but it is unproven whether it can be transmitted through oral sex.
Hepatitis C: This is a viral infection transmitted in a similar way to hepatitis B, and so usually affects drug users. Some
people with hepatitis C infection were infected with blood products, such as transfusions, prior to adequate screening procedures in the 1980s. There is limited evidence that hepatitis C may be
transmissible through receptive oral-genital contact.
Worms:
Threadworms, and probably other worms, can be transmitted by oral-anal contact or by fellatio after anal intercourse.
Can I rim safely?
Yes you can by using a dental dam between the anus and the mouth.
This is essentially a piece of thin strong plastic that a dentist uses to isolate a tooth when working on it. Since it is unlikely you will have the nerve to ask a dentist for these, you can purchase
them in places where a wide variety of condoms are sold. You could also cut an unlubricated condom (lubricated taste bad) down one side, open it up and use that as a barrier. Failing that, you can use
several thicknesses of plastic wrap such as saran wrap.
